Welcome to the homepage of the mailgate scripts.

There are three scripts plus one configuration file:

• mailgate.py -- fetch POP3 mail, submit it to a SMTP server
• POP2Mbox.py -- fetch POP3 mail, append it to a mailbox file
• MboxSMTP.py -- read a mailbox file, submit the mails to a SMTP server
• mailconf.py -- configuation file for mailgate.py

I have begun redesigning mailgate from scratch, since these functions are basically the same: Take some messages from a source (POP server or mbox file) and forward them to some sink (SMTP server or mbox file). In between, there can be arbitrary redirections.

Here is the design document for the configuration language. This is a "Work In Progress (TM)". Feel free to comment, critisize, etc.
